I can't post B's favorite song without posting Matthew's.
Matthew heard this song when Uncle Bubba took him to the lake to drop off B, C, and B for their visit with Papa and Cindy. He woke up the next day and asked me about the song and he was able to sing enough of it for me to Google the lyrics. (Anyone notice a trend? I LOVE Google!) Anyway, I found the name of the song and band, then found the video on You Tube. It's a little weird/disturbing, but M doesn't watch that - he just sings the song. It almost never fails to get him singing and smiling. When he's grumpy (or as he used to say "floppy") I'll put it on and he usually grins and then starts singing. His (and Bradley's) favorite part is the growl towards the end. "I feel like a monster!" That growl scared my mom the first time she heard it - she wasn't even comforted by the fact that Skillet is a Christian Band.
And now....Monster, by Skillet

Trying again
I read blogs all the time, but I never kept up with this one. I'm trying again to see if it sticks this time. It'll be a little bit of an update on my family, a little bit of a personal journal, a little bit of whatever comes to my head.
One thing I've been thinking about is sharing music that means something to me. I often hear a song and post it to Facebook, but I'd love to post them on here so they're easier to group together. It could be a song that has brought back memories or a song I've just heard and I want to share. So... what should be first?
Hmmm....how about the one that Bradley is singing all the time now.

B discovered this song when he was downloading Flip Notes on his DSi. He kept singing it and so I Googled to look up the lyrics and see what he was singing. It's catchy so I downloaded it and now we hear it a lot. It cracks me up because B sings it with so much energy. He even counts on the "I told you once, now I told you twice" part. It also makes me laugh that as much as B loves it - M hates it. He puts his hands over his ears and just glares at us while we dance and sing. I guess he hopes it'll make us stop, but it just makes us sing louder and dance crazier.

An Actor's Life
So Bradley and his cousins Connie and Belle attended Drama Camp this week. They had so much fun and really enjoyed being together almost all day for 5 days in a row. They got to write their own skit and perform it. The theme of the week was Fairy Tales.
So, I now present....
Little Red Riding Hood Meets the Three Little Pigs.
The first part is the narrator setting the scene. The whole video is about 2 1/2 minutes.

Whew!
I guess time flies when you're having fun. Or when you start a job that you didn't think was going to take up that much time. I started teaching on line in January through Georgia Virtual School and it kicked my butt. I never realized how hard it would be to balance the kids with working at home. It seemed whenever I got online, that was the time that Matthew needed something. I tried staying up late to work after the kids went to sleep, but I soon learned that I do not make a good zombie.
Oh well, enough complaining. I did enjoy getting to teach again. And I got to teach Physics again. Ahh, the joys of acceleration, electricity, magnetism, light, formulas, calculations.... it was AWESOME to be immersed in something other than Wiggles. Did I just imply that the Wiggles are bad?? No. Not me. It's just that it's fun to have grown up things again.

Brothers

I have a million things I should be doing right now and a bunch of pictures/stories I want to share, but I'm just had to upload this picture. It just makes my heart melt. I took Matthew to Bradley's Valentine party at school. When it was time for me to leave B called M to say goodbye. Luckily I had the camera in my hand and snapped this picture.
I just can't express how much I love these boys. Bradley takes such good care of his little brother and Matthew wants to be just like his big brother.

My Little Scientist
Since Bradley changed schools at the beginning of the year, he rides in with Michael in the mornings. They get breakfast at the high school, eat it in Michael's classroom, then B does homework or watches TV or plays on the computer. Then B sits through almost all of Michael's first period class before he walks over to his school.
Bradley has helped Michael set up labs, get things ready for the day, etc. He's also gotten to watch the high school kids do a few labs. Well today Michael suited B up and let him participate.
Here's B is all his safety gear:
And here he is with the results of his experiment -- DNA! It was a DNA extraction lab and he extracted DNA from wheat germ!

Big Bird

Sure, Big Bird was my nickname in high school, but it is also what is living in my back yard. I've see this huge bird fly by a couple of times before and I was immediately amazed. It is beautiful.
I've been on the lookout for it and I was able to capture him on film yesterday. Now, if I could just figure out what he is. I'm assuming a hawk, but what kind? I'm scared to let Darwin out of the house now. I think he just might want my little Dachsund as a snack. The way he was looking at me in one of the pictures I could almost hear him thinking "I'd never have to hunt again if I could just lift her up!"
UPDATE:
After asking some of my friends on GeorgiaSportbike, I'm pretty sure this is an adolescent red tailed hawk. I can't wait to see him when he grows up!
Here's the Wikipedia link for red tailed hawks: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-tailed_Hawk
